About Us...

Flat Earth Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre company based primarily Watertown and serving the Greater-Boston area.

Flat Earth began in 2006 with the production of Joe, written by Flat Earth member, Kevin Mullins. From the completion of this first show, the company resolved to continue to produce shows that both enlighten and entertain. We strive to produce top-notch theatre for the Greater Boston area that is accessible to everyone.

We strongly engcourage you to join our Mailing List to stay informed of upcoming performances, auditions, and other events hosted by Flat Earth.

Our Mission...

We are artists who share a passion for creating theatre. We strive to immerse ourselves and others in our storytelling; to make the boundaries between actor and audience disappear. We are entertainers who believe in theatre as a vehicle for ideas and new forms of expression. We seek to produce thought-provoking art that both challenges and entertains.

Board Members

Kevin Mullins

Board Facilitator

Kevin Mullins

Kevin graduated from Hampshire College in 2007 with a BA in Playwriting and Arts Management. A native of Watertown, Kevin got his start in theatre with the Watertown Children's Theatre. While studying at Watertown High School, Kevin was highly involved in the school's theatre arts program. At Hampshire, he served as facilitator of the school's Theatre Board which controls which direction the theatre department will take throughout the year including monetary allocation and slotting.

An accomplished playwright, several of Kevin's own plays have been produced. Including the true-crime drama, Thrill, which explores the story of early thrill killers Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, Joe, the tale of a disenfranchised man seeking revenge for the death of his wife, and most recently, The Empress, a twisted, futuristic whodunit story of regicide, greed, and forbidden love.

Kevin's major areas of interest are playwriting, producing, theatre for young audiences, and theatre for social change. He is a firm believer that the medium of Theatre can be used as a powerful tool to teach and enlighten - as well as entertain.

Sarah Kimball

Board Member, Company Development Manager

Sarah Kimball

Inspired by the Peterborough Players, a summer stock theater in the town she was born, Sarah developed a love of theatre at a young age. Throughout high school and college she has worked on and acted in theatre and film projects, including Titus Andronicus and many original works. After graduating from Hampshire College in 2007, she joined forces with Kevin and Jake to help develop Flat Earth Theatre. While she tends to play more of an administrative role in the company, she still acts. Recently she played the Valet in the Flat Earth Theatre's production of No Exit.

Coriana Hunt Swartz

Secretarial Scribe, Costume Manager

Coriana Hunt Swartz

Coriana Hunt Swartz graduated from Hampshire College in 2007 (you may be sensing a pattern here). What she studied there is anybody's guess, but somehow she ended up passing as a costume designer. Recent design credits include the children's opera Brundibar at the Commonwealth Opera of Western Mass, the short film The Celebration and family feature Natalie, Queen of Scots, both forthcoming from Lobsterback Entertainment, and Flat Earth's productions of No Exit, A Night with Durang, and Blood Relations.

When not chained to the sewing machine, Coriana prefers to act. She appeared as Thomas in A Night with Durang and as Juror 2 in 12 Angry Jurors. In her other life she regularly impersonates Mary Poppins.

Coriana is utterly fascinated by the bounded tensions inherent in the construction of wings.

Leigh Downes

Board Member, Equipment Manager

Sarah Kimball

Leigh graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009 with a BSEE-Tech and returned to his hometown of Watertown. He's an alum of the Watertown Children's Theatre, WHS Drama Club, former RIT Players' President and treasurer, and advocate of deaf theatre at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at RIT. He has been working tech for live music, theatre and dance for over ten years, specializing in sound systems and lighting design.

His theatrical highlights include Charlie Bucket in WCT's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Brick in WHS's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, producing and artistic director of RIT's Isaac Asimov's: The Last Question, director and TD of Flat Earth's The Actor's Nightmare, lead sound engineer for RIT's Little Shop of Horrors, and most recently both sound designer and the role of Bernard Nightingale in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia at RIT.

Leigh has worked with Flat Earth since the first production of Kevin Mullins's Joe in 2006 and is happy to be on board full time with his friends now that he's returned from school.
